UKCP REGISTERED PSYCHOTHERAPIST
Hello. Thank you for visiting my site.
If you are considering therapy for a particular issue then I believe I will be able to help you. You've already taken the first step, it takes courage to seek help.
I can offer a safe space to explore any issues which may be troubling you and support you to find the best way forward for You.
People seek therapy for many different reasons; it may be to work on a historical issue such as childhood trauma and abuse, in response to a current stressor such as work or relationship problems, or it may be simply to explore your own experience of yourself and your world and the relationships within it, in order to gain deeper self awareness and self understanding.
If you wish to have an informal chat about how I may be able to help you I am here for You. Please contact me by one of the methods on the Contact page to set up a free initial consultation and we'll take it from there.
Quick contact form - enter your details into the spaces below and I'll get back to you to arrange a free initial consultation.
(I'll usually reply within 24 hours so if you haven't heard from me please check your spam folder)
A counselling session should be a relaxing and comfortable experience in a calming environment. You are free to talk about any issues that are concerning you and everything will be held in total confidence with absolutely no judgement. The therapist is there to help and support you.
The particular form of therapy I practice is called 'Person Centred' which I believe is the most relevant and effective style because as the name suggests it focuses completely on the individual.
Face to face sessions are the traditional form of therapy but I am also now able to offer telephone sessions or sessions over Zoom with weekend and evening appointments available at no extra cost.
Counselling and Psychotherapy
Remote Psychotherapy
Traditionally psychotherapy has taken the form of Face to Face sessions but online counselling is becoming increasingly popular through the use of Zoom and similar apps. These offer a convenient and effective way to access professional mental health support through the internet all from the comfortable and familiar surroundings of your home.
I am also now able to offer telephone or online therapy sessions over Zoom with weekend and evening appointments available at no extra cost.
If you feel this may be the right option for you then please contact me from anywhere across the UK to arrange a free initial consultation.
I am a Person Centred Experiential Psychotherapist, I trained with the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute and Staffordshire University.
In addition to this I am also a registered Occupational Therapist and have completed a further education teaching qualification
I have 30 years experience working in the NHS, Education and Voluntary sectors - these roles have brought me into close contact with many individuals of all ages and from all walks of life.
It has been my privilege to work closely with people facing deep challenges with regard to their physical, mental and emotional health, or with their physical or social environment. I consider it an honour to be placed in this position of trust, and I am inspired every day by the people I work with.
In my own life I have been on my own journey and faced my own challenges and I believe this has allowed me to truly empathise with those who are in a dark place.
As a person centred therapist, my focus will always centre on you as a person, and on what you need from your therapy sessions. I place a great deal of importance on the therapeutic relationship, and I want you to feel safe, and comfortable to express what you need and how you feel.
